Cable
radio is quite a new concept to cable television; it brings
radio stations into homes and businesses via the same aerial
(coaxial cable) that receives your television programmes.
There
are now lots of different cable radio programmes
broadcasting on digital television. Radio
stations such as BBC Radio 1, 5 Live, Virgin Radio, Xfm,
Asian, Christian and Gay stations, all covering a variety of
different subjects.
Some
cable radio customers who listen to radio through their
television are also be able to view 'interactive content' –
you simply press the red button on your digital remote
whilst listening to your favourite radio programme and this
will bring up various menus such as 'now playing' track
information, music genre based news, what's hot in the
charts, programme listings, sports, news and weather.
BBC Radio 1 listeners can now view the latest entertainment
news as well as listen to the station; BBC Radio 5 Live
audiences see live news and sport headlines; and 6 Music
fans get "Now playing" track details plus up-to-date music
news and chart information.
Regional radio has an enhanced presence via digital
television. At the touch of a button (the red one on your
digital remote) you will be able to access local news,
regional programme information and the latest event
information in your area.
Our
website will be live soon.
